EXHIBITORS from home and abroad will showcase the latest medical devices at the 61st China International Medical Equipment Fair to be held at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from Saturday to Tuesday.
More than 2,100 exhibitors, more than half of which are from overseas or have foreign investors, will attend the fair, organized by Reed Sinopharm Exhibitons, a Beijing-based company that specializes in exhibitions for the medical devices industry.
International enterprises, including Siemens, General Electric and Hitachi, will display their medical imaging equipment, said Li Chao, director of Reed Sinopharm.
The event, supported by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and China National Medical Equipment Industry Corp., will feature more than 10,000 products in 40 categories, such as the latest software, IT technologies used by hospitals, advanced administrative software and services for hospitals, Li said.
“The Shenzhen Municipal Government will make great efforts to develop the exhibition industry in the coming few years,” said Yin Yong, deputy director-general of the Shenzhen Bureau of Trade and Industry. “It is important to help enterprises increase their business volume amid the global economic crisis.”
With more than 5,100 booths and covering 110,000 square meters, the fair is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors in four days.
Li said more than 15,000 buyers from 93 countries had registered online for the fair by Thursday, a record in the fair’s 30-year history.
